Opioid Overdose Emergency Infographic
This infographic was created to make information about the opioid overdose epidemic accessible to people who use drugs. It was printed and distributed to harm reduction sites across British Columbia, as well as posted on the BC Centre for Disease Control website. It has been used by the Provincial Health Officer and Deputy Provincial Health Officer at meetings at the provincial and national level.
Process
The content was gathered from BC Centre for Disease Control epidemiological reports, consultation with people who use drugs, and discussion with experts in the field. The content was refined through meetings with various stakeholders, with particular consideration of input from peers with lived experience.
The infographic was created in Adobe Illustrator. The design uses bold colours and stark contrast to catch attention and simple icons to make the document more approachable.
