Graphic Medicine: Bipolar Disorder
This comic was submitted as an assignment for MSC2022 Graphic Medicine. The project combines text and visuals in a visual narrative to share a story about depression and bipolar disorder.
Sharing experiences of mental illness helps increase understanding around mental health and reduce the stigma that surrounds it. Sharing personal stories also helps those struggling with mental health issues to know they are not alone. Simplicity in both language and visual style helps to make a heavy topic more approachable.
After writing the script, sketches were done in Procreate. Indesign was used for layout and type. Inking and colouring was done in Clip Studio Paint. Textures were added in Photoshop.
This project has been shared on social media through Instagram and Facebook.
